During the mid-1980s, Richard Ramirez became one of America's most notorious serial killers. Known as **The Night Stalker**, he carried out a series of brutal home invasions, murders and assaults before his capture in August 1985.
Convicted of 13 murders in 1989, Ramirez was sentenced to death and remained on death row until his death in 2013.
